Specifically, I look at ideas, organizations, and systems, taking in the many interconnected pieces, and find ways to make them work as efficiently and effectively as possible.

In my free time, I enjoy intense physical challenges, writing, starting small businesses, marketing, and being with my family.

What I Do

Redemption Hill Church

For 14 years, I worked at a church in Richmond, VA, overseeing business operations and kids ministry.

Fitness

I am a Level 3 Certified CrossFit Trainer, working out and working at CrossFit Addict as GM & Head Coach. I also regularly participate in 24-28 hour endurance events put on by GORUCK and have run one 100K Ultramarathon.

Soccer

I grew up playing The Beautiful Game. I have shared that love with kids ages 4-14 as a youth soccer coach for 10 years. Recently, I hung up my whistle and now enjoy sitting back and watching my boys play.

For those who like tidy boxes to put people in, my CliftonStrengths (formerly Strengths Finder) key strengths are Analytical, Discipline, Deliberative, Responsibility, Self-Assurance.

Writing

I enjoy writing. I have several side projects that allow me to express this joy. Rucking.com and Ruck.Beer are two examples.

Reading

In 2020, I decided to stop being lazy and read more. I read a lot of books that year. Not some many in subsequent years.

Side Hustle

I know a little code. I have a background in marketing. I enjoy communication. Mix those together and I'm always trying to find a way to turn it into a profitable side hustle. The Rucking Collective LLC is the company I formed to run it all.

For those nerdy enough to know what Kolbe A is, I am 6-8-3-3 (aka, Explain, Systematize, Stabilize, Envision). Kolbe measures your instinctive way of doing things and the result is called your MO (method of operation).
